My Philosophy of Supervision:

Supervision is an important part of any clinician's clinical and professional development. Exploring therapeutic perspective and values are vital to constant growth as a therapist. While it is important for clinicians to be knowledgeable about theoretical constructs, it is equally important for them to develop their own style and professional identity.

I approach supervision with a supportive stance, encouraging confidence while providing guidance as needed. I can offer insight about various work environments, given my experience in acute care, residential, in-home, and private practice (both group and individual practices).

There are many aspects of being a good clinician. It is important to consider the many facets of therapy, including the therapeutic relationship, techniques, therapeutic models, ethical and legal issues, and the business aspects. I encourage questions and open discussion.

Serene R. Bailey, MA, LPC, LMFT offers Clinical Supervision for interns in graduate programs or anyone seeking licensure as an LPC or LMFT or Clinical Membership with AAMFT.

Serene is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor.
