PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Serene's professional experience include clinical, supervisory, and administrative roles in a variety of settings. She has worked with all ages with a broad spectrum of issues, from everyday stress to dealing with a history of abuse & trauma. During her over decade long career Serene has helped to launch new clinical programs; directed a residential program for delinquent youth; supervised clinical, direct care staff, and management; and developed her private practice.
Serene enjoys working with people to improve their lives and experience healthy, satisfying relationships. She also provides clinical supervision to fellow therapists and interns in the counseling field.

Serene remains active in the counseling field, attending workshops and training regularly. She exceeds the licensing board's continuing education requirements every year. This helps her to always be aware of new research, theories, and techniques to ensure that she is offering the latest, most effective treatment.
PRESENTATIONS
Serene provides training for local businesses and agencies on a variety of issues, including: balancing life and work, stress management, and dealing with change in the workplace. She has also presented at Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ), National Adolescent Perpetrator Network (NAPN), Association for the Advancement of Behavior Therapy (AABT), and Chesapeake Council on Youth Services (CCOYS) / Norfolk Interagency Council on Services to Youth (NICOSTY) on effective treatment.

Serene has co-authored 6 journal articles and a chapter in a book.
